After our review of the day’s newspapers, we turned to tourism, connecting live with Heraklion, Crete, for a conversation with Mr. Nikos Chalkiadakis, President of the Heraklion Hoteliers Association and the Cretan Hotel Owners’ Federation.
In the second hour, we connected with Larissa, where ERT correspondent Vangelis Mitrousias gave us a sense of the extreme heat in the Thessaly region and how locals are coping with the heatwave expected to last until Sunday.
Before wrapping up with sports news, we welcomed to the studio Ms. Dora Dima, President of the Greek Sharing Economy Association. We spoke about short-term rentals and the evolution of the practice in Greece since 2016, when homeowners began renovating their properties for listing on rental platforms. We also touched on property investment opportunities in Greece, supported by low-interest loans from Greek banks aimed at diaspora Greeks wishing to return and settle in the country.
