The program “Faraway Words” featured a telephone interview with Antigoni Tsiouli, prima ballerina of the Cairo Opera Ballet.

The occasion for the discussion was her participation in the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum, the world’s largest museum, where she performed a unique choreography with pharaonic elements.

Member of the Cairo Opera Ballet for the past 12 years, Antigoni Tsiouli spoke with Natasa Vissarionos about the magnificent inauguration ceremony, the meaning of dance in her life, the role of cultural diplomacy, the sacrifices required of a prima ballerina, as well as life in Cairo and her dreams for the future.
