Tonia Moropoulou and Vasilis Vasileiadis on “Fair Winds and Following Seas” | 27 July 2026

Prof. Tonia Moropoulou, Vice President of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE) and Professor Emerita at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), and Vasilis Vasileiadis, naval architect and Secretary General of the Panhellenic Association of Shipyards and Traditional Boatyards, speak on “Fair Winds and Following Seas” on Voice of Greece.

Referring to this year’s Posidonia exhibition, Prof. Moropoulou described it as “a forum for networking, dialogue and exchange, not only among maritime nations and communities, but also among institutions with a global role, such as science and technology in the age of digital innovation, artificial intelligence and interdisciplinary collaboration.”

Speaking about wooden boats and traditional boatyards, Mr. Vasileiadis stressed that “all stakeholders—from traditional boatyards and shipwrights to shipyards and related sectors—must work together and do everything possible to preserve our maritime heritage and support Greece’s wooden boats.
