“Unguarded Passage” continues its exploration of human rights violations in Turkey, presenting the second part of its radio documentary on the political upheavals that have shaped the country over the past fifteen years. This installment focuses on three pivotal events:
– The death of political prisoner Güler Zere,
– The fatal police shooting of 15-year-old Bekir Elvan,
– The imprisonment of lawyer and human rights defender Ayten Öztürk.
For the first time on radio, the documentary features an exclusive interview with Ayten Öztürk, conducted by Thomas Sideris for his film “The Noose”, which was previously broadcast on ERT3.
In addition, Thomas Sideris reads the final article penned by Hrant Dink, the murdered Turkish journalist of Armenian descent, titled “My Heart Trembles Like a Pigeon.”
Also participating is journalist Rafik Abtin.
