(Final episode of the radio documentary series “Unguarded Passage” with Thomas Sideris)
The fifth and final installment of “Palestine in Focus”, the special series within the award-winning radio documentary show “Unguarded Passage” by Thomas Sideris, is dedicated to the women of Palestine—those who, over nearly two decades of Gaza’s blockade and the ongoing settlement expansion in the West Bank, have played a vital role in the survival and resilience of their communities.
Palestinian women—as mothers, sisters, wives, and members of extended family networks—have been called to confront loss, exclusion, hunger, extrajudicial killings, and bombings. Along with children, they have been among the first and most vulnerable victims of war.
The documentary features political activist Alexia Tsouni, who spent many years living alongside Palestinian women and children. Songs will also be heard from three emblematic Palestinian singers: Jawaher Shofani, Rim Banna, and Nai Barghouti.
