The show “Faraway words” on Voice of Greece was phoned-in from Leipzig, on Monday, September 25, by the Administrative Director of the Sax Wind Philharmonic, Ms. Varvara Venetikidou. Ms. Venetikidou talked about her decision to emigrate to Germany, about the “turn” in her career from clarinet soloists, to the management of cultural organizations, the differences that the two countries (Germany – Greece) have regarding the music scene, as well as about the “Opus Klassik” award with which the Saxon Wind Philharmonic will be honored as Ensemble of the year, being the only wind orchestra in existence in Germany.
It is worth noting that the Opus Klassik Prize is considered the most significant European prize in classical music.
