Her own story of adoption from Greece in the late 1950s is recounted by Dena Politis Poulias and her husband Christos Poulias from the state of Florida where they live, on the show “Our Global Voice” with Petros Diplas and Dimitris Kontogiannis on Voice of Greece radio.
The story of Dena Poulias is one of the 14 stories of adopted Greek children recorded in the book “Voices of the Lost Children of Greece”, by Potamos publications, which was recently published in Greek by Mary Cardaras. The amazing story of Dena Poulias, who was adopted at the age of 14 months in 1959 by 2nd generation Greek Americans from Columbus, Ohio, and originally from Sparta, in which a former Governor of the state of Ohio and the FBI, among others, appear to be implicated. The story has a good ending as she ultimately finds her biological parents, her two brothers, and her grandmother from Arta in Greece – the last one to see her before she was stolen from Greece.
