The Theatre of the Diaspora on ”The Voice that Unites Us” | 26.01.2024

On Friday, January 26th, Gianna Triantafylli hosts in the studio of Voice of Greece Mrs. Katerina Diakoumopoulou, assistant professor at the Department of Theatre Studies of the School of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

K. Diakoumopoulou leads the Primary European Jean Monnet Project called “THEATRE 2 SEA”, which disseminates European climate change strategies through theatre techniques.

She has published scientific articles on Modern Greek theatre, with emphasis on the theatre of the Greek diaspora. As a researcher she has studied ‘Greek actors of the Diaspora’ until 1922. She has also studied Greek theatre in New York from the late 19th century to 1940.

Professor Katerina Diakoumopoulou, with her knowledge, research and experience, will shed light mainly on that side of Greek theatre that has its own history, far from Greece.
