The farmers mobilizations were the focus of the first telephone communication on the broadcast of Thursday, February 15th, 2024, with ERT’s correspondent in Larissa, Konstantina Theocharouli, informing us about the latest developments on the farmers’ fronts, shortly before the meeting at the Nikaia junction, in which the future of the mobilizations would be decided. Immediately afterwards, we read the front pages of the newspapers and then gave the floor to political editor of Avgi newspaper, Kostas Poulakidas, to comment on current affairs, focusing mainly on the issue of the vote in Parliament on the bill on Marriage Equality, the fronts that have opened for the government with farmers, students, freelancers and the developments in the field of the center-left after Kasselakis’ appearance at the event organized by the Teboneras-Christodoulakis-Achtsioglou and in view of the SYRIZA P.A. congress Before 11 o’clock, we started discussing the issue of establishing non-state universities, with Mr. Periklis Mitkas, President of the National Authority of Higher Education and former Rector of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

After 11 o’clock, we got a connection with Kozani, from where Despina Amarantidou, ERT’s correspondent in the area, informed us about farmers having occupied the office building of the Regional Authorities. Then, we met the new mayor of Lagadas, Thessaloniki, Niki Andreadou, one of only 22 women mayors elected in the recent local elections, as part of the relevant tribute of the show. At 11:25, we talked with teacher Niki Kokkinopliti who works at the 21st kindergarten school of Athens, in Gyzi, about the initiative taken by the school to visit the offices of the homeless magazine “Shedia” to meet its people and participate in the initiative where celebrities and non-celebrities sell the magazine to come closer to homeless people. We listened to the song about the raft made and sung by the kindergarten children, while Niki Kokkinopliti also talked about the educational team “Skip School – Experimental steps for a community school” which this year turns 10 years old, offering alternative ideas and proposals for the Public School, aiming at a Community school, based on the principles and techniques of the great French pedagogue Célestin Freinet.

The show ended with international news by Ivana Djordjevic and sports news by Antigone Drakatou in the studio.
