On the Friday show, May 9, 2025, we had the pleasure of speaking by phone with Mr. Dimitris Moschos, Professor of Ecclesiastical History at the University of Athens, to learn more about the election of the new Pope and the personality of Leo XIV, the new Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church.
Immediately after the headlines of the newspapers, we spoke with Emeritus Professor of Geopolitics at the Sorbonne University, Mr. Georgios-Stylianos Prevelakis, in light of the 4th meeting titled “Applied Greek-French Dialogues.” This time, the focus was on “The Education of the Sea,” held on Wednesday, May 7, in Paris—a project led by Mr. Prevelakis and Professor Michel Foucher.
The second hour of the show was filled with World Music, as we hosted two Greek musicians. The violinist and composer Maria Manousaki joined us to present her new album titled “Behind Closed Doors,” and in the Voice of Greece studio, we welcomed Stella Pappa, a musician from Heraklion, Crete, who has spent the last 8 years traveling through Latin America, immersing herself in the culture, sounds, and lifestyle. Her travels resulted in the release of an album featuring unique songs recorded there in collaboration with Latin American musicians and bands. Stella Pappa also discussed her workshop on Latin American song, which takes place every Wednesday in May at the café in the Academy of Plato and is open to all vocal professionals, lovers of Latin American music, and instrumentalists interested in this repertoire.
