Singer-songwriter Stella Pappa on “Take Your Time” | 09 May 2025

Performer and singer-songwriter Stella Pappa was a guest on the radio show “Take Your Time” with Prokopis Angelopoulos.

Stella Pappa has carved her own path, breaking away from the norms of the music industry. Driven by a desire to explore the world, she set out to write and record at least one song in every country she visited. Along the way, she met musicians and artists from across the globe—listening to their stories and absorbing the musical heritage each carried from their homeland. Her musical journey has taken her to Naples, Andalusia, Havana and Baracoa in Cuba, the French Antilles, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Colombia, and Ecuador, among others. At each stop, she gathered sounds, stories, and inspiration, weaving them into her performances. Her voice became a map, connecting every place, town, and personality she encountered.

Stella spent a year and a half in Mexico, where she was stranded during the pandemic. She then resumed her journey through Latin America, made a brief stop in New York, and continued on to Central America—Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua—and then to Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and finally, Brazil. Now back in Greece, Stella shares her story through her music—a story shaped by discovery, resilience, and a profound belief in the unity of human experience.
Her message: “What sets us apart is what brings us together.”

Stella Pappa is currently leading an open workshop titled “Song in Latin America”, where she explores and presents songs that represent the rich and diverse musical traditions of the Latin American continent. True to her spirit of constant movement and musical exchange, Stella has also just completed her second solo album, “All the Soirées of the World”—a vibrant collection that captures her musical journey alongside artists from around the globe. It’s an album that feels like a well-traveled backpack filled with stories, rhythms, and voices from the ends of the earth.
