John Pandazopoulos, former Minister in the State Government of Victoria, Australia, spoke on Voice of Greece and the program “Our Global Voice” with Dimitris Kontogiannis about the promotion of the Greek language and culture.
Mr. Pandazopoulos, who has also served as president and secretary general of the World Hellenic Inter-Parliamentary Association (WHIA) in the past, emphasized the importance of closer cooperation between elected officials of Greek origin around the world and Greece, in order to better promote Greek positions on national issues abroad.
Currently serving as president of Tourism Midwest Victoria, he also highlighted the vital role tourism plays as a driver of economic growth—both globally and especially for Greece.
He further stressed the need to strengthen ties between Greece and third-, fourth-, and fifth-generation Greeks abroad, suggesting initiatives such as school visits to the ancestral homeland and leveraging technology to bridge distances.
