His Eminence Metropolitan Joseph of Buenos Aires (born Leandro Bosch) was born in Córdoba, Argentina on September 7, 1976. He studied Theology at the Theological School of Belementi, Lebanon and at the Theological School of Thessaloniki from which he graduated in 2002. He was ordained Deacon in 1997 by Metropolitan Sasimon Gennadios and Elder in 2000 by Metropolitan Gennadius of Buenos Aires. In 2006 he completed his postgraduate studies at the Theological School of Thessaloniki. In 2007, he was assigned the office of Archimandrite. In 2012, he received his PhD from the Theological School of Thessaloniki. On August 19, 2012, he was consecrated Titular Bishop of Patara, Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Buenos Aires. On November 29, 2019, he was elected Metropolitan of Buenos Aires.
