Contrinuing the tribute of the show Narratives to the Asia Minor Catastrophe, on the occasion of the celebrations for August 15th in Greece, the next episode will focus on the prehistoric temples, churches and monasteries of Christianity located in Asia Minor and Pontus.
We will look back at two time periods of historic elements of the most important temples and monasteries, from 3rd century B.C until the fall of Constantinople in 1453, and from 1922 and the Asia Minor Catastrophy, until today.
We will complete our tribute with historical elements of Panagia Soumela in Pontus – one of the most glorious symbols of hellenism since the beginning of Orthodox Christianity and through the midst of time.
After the salvation of the most precious treatures in metropolitan Greece, in mount Vermio, we are here today, witnessing its restoration and reopening in 2010, at the holy grounds of Pontus, held in the presence of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
