This Saturday, 20 December 2025, at 12:00(Athens time), the Voice of Greece program “Our Town” with Themis Rodamitis welcomes the distinguished conductor and pianist Miltos Logiadis.
In the studio, Miltos Logiadis will reflect on the defining moments of his artistic journey. He will speak in depth about his close relationship with Manos Hadjidakis, their long-standing collaboration, and his tenure as conductor of the Orchestra of Colours—an experience he describes as singular and transformative.
He will also revisit what he considers the pinnacle moment of his career: one year after Hadjidakis’s death, when he conducted the Orchestra of Colours in “Gioconda’s Smile”, presented in its world premiere performance.
The discussion will further explore his teaching work at the Ionian University, as well as the role of the conductor today and the qualities this role demands—among them deep cultural grounding, emotional depth, the ability to inspire, and generosity of spirit.
Reference will also be made to landmark composers who shaped new musical paths, including Mikis Theodorakis, Iannis Xenakis, and Yannis Christou. Throughout the program, listeners will hear musical excerpts from works in which Miltos Logiadis appears either as pianist or conductor, featuring compositions by Nikos Skalkottas, Manos Hadjidakis, Yannis Konstantinidis, Mikis Theodorakis, and others.
