Educator Nikos Kommatas, visiting from faraway Tanzania, joined Natasa Vissarionos and Katerina Batzaki in the studio of Voice of Greece to share his experiences as a teacher in Greek schools in Africa. He spoke about life in Tanzania, the Greek community there, and the historic “Saint Constantine” school, founded by the Greek community in 1950 and now operating as an International School following the UK Ministry of Education’s curriculum.
Mr. Kommatas highlighted the “Greek essence” of the school, his teaching of Greek culture and heritage, and the experiential trips he has taken with his students to Greece, visiting Athens, Delphi, and Olympia.
Katerina Batzaki also shared her perspective on her travels in Tanzania and life in Africa, drawn from her experiences and volunteer work with NGOs that contribute to improving living standards in the region.
