In this episode, we speak with Giorgos Karetsos, a native of Kipourgio, Grevena. A forestry expert and PhD holder in Biology from the University of Patras, he specialized in Forest Ecology. He studied at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and spent 37 years in forest research at the Institute of Mediterranean Forest Ecosystems.
Karetsos has served as President of the Greek organization DIMITRA, as well as of the former Management Authority of the Mount Parnitha National Park. His work spans terrestrial, coastal, and island ecosystems. He retired with the title of Director of Research.
