Since the fires from 2018 up to 2021, the Geraneia mountains have also been the target of “green” development.
The Committee Against Wind Turbines in Geraneia, which includes associations and residents from both the Municipalities of Megara and Loutraki – Perachora – Agioi Theodoroi, stands united against the onslaught of wind turbines.
We discuss yet another marathon effort to keep the mountain untouched, including court battles, groundwater pollution, company licenses, and the residents’ struggles and appeals.
We talk to Dimitris Dessylas, a resident of Schinos, programmer, journalist, with a master’s degree in Greek-Turkish relations, who studied in America, a volunteer firefighter who since 2008 has chosen to live in Schinos.
Also joining us is Vasiliki Kousteri, a resident of Megara, activist, artist, puppeteer, and author.
