Take Your Time with Prokopis Agelopoulos | 11 July 2024

OnThursday, July 11, 2024, immediately following the newspaper headlines, we spoke with Matina Pagonis, president of EINAP and vice-president of OENGE, to discuss the issues in public hospitals, particularly the shortage of pathologists. This shortage has prompted the ministry to recruit private doctors, under the threat of revoking their prescribing privileges. Next, Professional Career Advisor Konstantinos Kotios provided advice to listeners, especially those with children who have taken exams for admission to higher education. He offered guidance on filling out computer science applications and selecting schools with the best prospects. We also discussed undervalued schools that offer high-quality studies in fields with excellent professional prospects, as well as future professions in general.

In the second hour, we coordinated with Nikoletta Tsitsanoudis-Mallidis, professor of Linguistics and Greek Language at the University of Ioannina and special collaborator of the Center for Greek Studies at Harvard. She discussed the Small Summer University for the Greek Language in the Diaspora, to be held in Kalymnos, and shared insights from the successful organization of the Summer University of Boston, which produced a “Mini Manual” for teachers of the Greek Diaspora.

Thanasis Fortosis, a member of the Sunday Mountaineering Association, informed us about this year’s 11th Arvanitsa Music Festival, taking place on July 12, 13, and 14 in the beautiful landscape of the Arvanitsa plateau in Helikon. The festival will feature significant names from the Greek art and rock scenes.

The show concluded with international news from Ivana Djordjevic and sports news from Dimitris Giahanatzis in the studio.
