On the Thursday, September 19, 2024 show, after the introduction and review of the newspaper headlines, we spoke with Eleftheria Tombatzoglou, the lawyer representing the family of Pavlos Fyssas, on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of his murder. She provided an update on the ongoing appeal trial of the criminal organization Golden Dawn.
Following that, we discussed the political current affairs with New Democracy parliamentary representative and MP for Thessaloniki, Anna Efthymiou.
The first hour concluded with a mention of the 50th anniversary of the KNE Odigitis Festival, which opened its doors on Wednesday, September 18, and was presented with the help of Vangelis Magnisalis, a member of KNE’s Central Council.
The second hour began with an interview with Dr. Giorgos Tsakalidis, a Theology professor, who spoke to us from his village, Lefkovrysi, Kozani, about his book “Authentic Refugee Stories.” The book, based on many years of challenging research, shares true stories of refugees from Pontus.
Afterward, our guest in the studio was Mr. Andreas Gkikas, a winemaker and former president of the Attica Wine Producers Association. We discussed the Attica vineyard, the difficulties winemakers are currently facing—especially with recent developments related to climate change—and the challenge of promoting wine tourism in an area with a 3,000-year history of wine production.
