Ourania Karteri, President of the Greek Festival of Sydney and Vice President of the Greek Community of New South Wales was hosted on the program and spoke about the Greek Film Festival of Australia, which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary. As she mentioned, the Festival travels to all the major cities of Australia (Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Darwin, Adelaide) and, for the first time this year, films from the festival will also be screened in New Zealand. This year also marks the introduction of a competition for young people of Greek descent, who will create short films in the Greek language. The festival program includes, among other things, a tribute to the films of Renos Haralambidis, who will attend the screenings in Sydney and Melbourne, as well as a tribute to Pantelis Voulgaris. The opening night will feature the screening of the film “Kapetan Mihalis”.
