Attorney Giannis Fotiadis, who was born in New York to Greek parents and relocated to Thailand nearly 30 years ago, spoke on Voice of Greece and the program “Our Global Voice” with Dimitris Kontogiannis about the profound changes the country has undergone over the past three decades. He also discussed the small Greek community in Thailand, which became even smaller in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, the challenges foreigners face when purchasing property or establishing a business there, and the country’s social security system.
Fotiadis also referred to Constantine Phaulkon, the Greek-born statesman who served as the chief minister of Siam (present-day Thailand) in the 17th century, highlighting the respect and admiration that many Thais continue to hold for his legacy today.
