The studio of the “Voice of Greece” hosted, on Monday, December 12, the multi-award-winning preschool education specialist, Mr. Vasilis Fthenakis. Mr. Fthenakis was born and raised in Greece, but his interest in pedagogy and psychology led him to Munich, Germany, where he got two doctoral degrees. He has been a very important person in the restructuring of perception and legislation regarding family in Germany, a model adopted by more and more countries today, and which he has led and is leading independently of the federal German government in power.
The distinguished professor was invited to the broadcasting program “Faraway words”, where with Natasa Vissarionos and Giannis-Stelios Tzirvelakis, they discussed the many years of research and studies he has conducted on the role of the family in the development of children, but also the important role of preschool education, as well as for the present, the past, and the future of education both in Greece and abroad. Restructuring, overturning, and the radical changes that need to happen both in standard education as well as in other aspects of it, especially regarding preschool education. With an eye always focused on current affairs, Mr. Fthenakis commented on the situation prevailing in Structures for children in Greece and talked about the goals and pedagogical tactics they should maintain.
