On the Monday, 11 August 2025, edition of the program, we connected with Rhodes, where Katerina Theodoraki, president of the “Apollon Triathlon” association, spoke about summer on the island, tourist arrivals, the problem of rising costs affecting Rhodes as well, and of course the traditional festivities of the August 15th holiday. Immediately after the day’s online and newspaper headlines, we had a very interesting conversation with Kostas Grigorakis, the Greek owner of the “El Greco” restaurant in Auckland, New Zealand, whom we reached while he was vacationing in his hometown of Ierapetra, Lasithi.
In the second hour, we spoke with Nikos Papastergiadis, university professor in Melbourne and brother of Bill Papastergiadis, president of the Greek Community, on the occasion of his receiving the Michael Crouch Award for his book John Berger and Me, a biography of the celebrated Booker Prize–winning author.
In the final part of the program, we welcomed Eleni Kavgalaki, a third-generation ceramist from Margarites, the renowned pottery village of Rethymno.
