The creators of the film Bearcave (Αρκουδότρυπα) – this year’s standout surprise, already drawing attention at the festivals where it has been screened – joined us in the Voice of Greece studio, on the show “Time in Greece” with Prokopis Agelopoulos.
Directors Chrysianna Papadaki and Stergios Ninopoulos, together with lead actresses Pamela Economaki and Xara Kyriazi, spoke about the central concept of the film, the shooting in the Elati region of Trikala, and the particular challenges of working in natural settings and in a village of the Greek countryside. The discussion also touched on the issues faced by women today and the messages carried through the story as it unfolds on screen.
We had the chance to get to know the two young actresses making their debut in this production, and how they came to embody the roles of Argyro and Aneta. We also heard excerpts from the evocative music and songs that perfectly accompany this project by two promising young filmmakers—a film that has already enjoyed remarkable success at every festival where it has been presented. Bearcave first appeared as a short film, leaving a strong impression at the Drama Short Film Festival two years ago.
