“Take Your Time” with Prokopis Agelopoulos | 05 Dec. 2024

On the Thursday, December 5, 2024 episode, we hosted Mr. Kostas Tsoukalas, the Press Representative of PASOK-KINAL, via phone. We discussed the bill on the minimum wage, the issue of inflation, and the broader political landscape shaping the center-left.

In the second segment, we spoke with Mr. Christos Tsirogiannis, a guest lecturer at the University of Cambridge in the Department of Archaeology, a researcher for the Swiss Ministry of Culture on illicit antiquities, and head of a research team on illegal antiquities at the UNESCO Chair at the Ionian University. The discussion centered on the topic of the return of the Parthenon Marbles. Mr. Tsirogiannis highlighted the significant work he does in uncovering stolen ancient artifacts and emphasized the challenges in halting illegal excavations in Greece, even in fenced-off archaeological sites, due to the activities of ruthless looting networks. Regarding the Parthenon Marbles, he was unequivocal in stating that secret negotiations for their return should not occur, as it is crucial to ensure that ownership of the marbles is recognized by the Greek state.

In the final part of the program, we welcomed Mr. Kostas Sflomos, emeritus professor of Chemistry and Food Toxicology at the University of West Attica, to the studio. The discussion was prompted by his book, “Food Choices for a Healthy Diet and a Pleasant Life,” co-authored with Dimitra Chouchoula. The conversation focused on foods that contribute to a healthy lifestyle, the daily dietary balances we should maintain, the role of dairy and flour in our nutrition, and, more broadly, the issue of well-being that should coexist with mindful eating habits.
