On the show “Take Your Time”, we welcomed Alexandros Kazamias to the studios of Voice of Greece. An MP with the Course of Freedom party and a member of the Greek diaspora, Mr. Kazamias was born and raised in Egypt and later studied and worked in the UK. He is Associate Professor of Political Science at Coventry University and has served as a visiting researcher at Princeton, Edinburgh, and Amsterdam, as well as a visiting professor at the Universities of Oxford and Warwick.
In the interview, he spoke about his years in the Hellenic community of Egyptians, offering reflections on Egypt’s historical trajectory over the past decades as he experienced it firsthand, and on the evolution of the Greek diaspora there. He also shared the story of how he met Zoe Konstantopoulou in 2017, a pivotal moment that led to his involvement in Greek politics. The conversation touched on current political developments and what’s expected to shape public discourse from the end of August—particularly the unresolved issues surrounding the Tempi railway disaster and the OPEKEPE case.
