On Tuesday’s show, 05 August 2025, we welcomed ERT journalist Anastasia Spyridaki from Lesvos, in her first interview following her retirement — 35 years after the start of her journalistic journey.
Right after the morning press review, we hosted Mr. Alexandros Kazamias in the studio, Member of Parliament with Plefsi Eleftherias, originally from the Greek diaspora. Born and raised in Egypt, and later educated and employed in the UK, he spoke about his years in the Greek Egyptian community, the historical path of Egypt over recent decades as he experienced it, and the evolution of the Greek presence there today. He also discussed his encounter with Zoe Konstantopoulou in 2017 and the decision to enter politics in Greece, while offering commentary on current political developments — particularly issues expected to resurface at the end of August, such as the Tempi case and matters concerning OPEKEPE.
In the second hour, following international news presented by Ivana Djordjevic, we welcomed author Ifigeneia Theodorou to the Voice of Greece studio, on the occasion of her recent award for the book Είναι μια Θάλασσα. The collection of short stories features characters from her debut book Χρυσός, Λιβάνι και Σμύρνη, now placed in contemporary Athens — figures who, as the author notes, continue to long for that original sea-homeland, a place of comfort and belonging, like a nurturing mother.
