“Faraway Words” with Eleni Tsakmaki from Munich | 27 Jan. 2025

The show hosted the award-winning author Eleni Deli Dimitriou – Tsakmaki from Bavaria, who shared her personal immigration story, marking 64 years this year. She spoke about the difficult years of immigration that Greeks experienced in Germany as guest workers, her 20 books, and her theatrical works. She also talked about the exhibition she created in 2020 for the 60th anniversary of the “Greece-Germany Labor Agreement,” featuring items (suitcases, letters, old passports) that she collected over 30 years, as well as the exhibition “The Life of Greek Immigrants in Germany,” which will be inaugurated on March 30 in Munich for the 65th anniversary.
