Mikis Theodorakis and Dimitris Lagios. The two composers were friends, lived in the same neighborhood “in the shadow of the Acropolis,” and shared common musical and aesthetic tastes. Between them there was esteem, love, admiration, and companionship.
Both cherished poets, setting their verses to music with inspiration and respect. Both were nature lovers, with a special affection for the sea, which was also a central source of inspiration.
Politically engaged and sensitive to issues of social justice as well as to questions of philosophy and cultural thought, they carried these concerns into their daily lives.
In this program, their songs converse with one another, creating a unique atmosphere born from their personal and creative moments.
The broadcast features contributions from Margarita Theodorakis and Peggy Lagios.
