“Our Town” takes us on a photographic journey through Rome.
Acclaimed photographer Andreas Zacharatos and curator, writer and photographer Jenny Lykourezou join the program in the studio to discuss a city they have been visiting for many years, capturing distinctive moments and scenes through their lenses.
Having explored Rome extensively on foot, Andreas Zacharatos describes how his camera draws him ever closer to the city’s soul and complexity. His gaze seeks out the contrasts of life in the Eternal City, as Marcello Mastroianni’s words from “La Dolce Vita” echo in his mind: “I love Rome. It’s a jungle, warm and peaceful. You can hide!”
Through the two guests’ photographs and stories, the program offers a tour of one of the world’s most captivating cities: its magnificent monuments and bustling streets, its flavors and vitality, its distinctive history and culture.
