On Monday, 10 November 2025, “Our Town” on Voice of Greece hosted the distinguished and multi-awarded poet Antonis Fostieris, one of the most significant voices in contemporary Greek poetry and a leading representative of the Generation of the ’70s.
In an open-hearted conversation with Themis Rodamitis, Fostieris reflected on the poets who marked his life, particularly during his stay in Paris, a period that became a springboard for inspiration and creative renewal. With nostalgia, he also recalled his close poet-friends of the same generation, many of whom have passed away in recent years.
He further spoke about his long-standing contribution to the Third Programme of Hellenic Radio, the invaluable literary magazine “Η Λέξη” (“The Word”) which he co-edited with Thanasis Niarchos, and read poems dedicated to the listeners of Voice of Greece.
