On Friday, 12 December 2025, the program opened with an interview with Kalliopi Dilaveraki, President of the Hellenic Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing. The discussion focused on the rally and protest march held on Thursday evening from Thissio to Syntagma Square, organised in the context of International Mountain Day. The central demand was the protection of the integrity of mountain environments and, above all, the creation of an adequate rescue system, following tragic incidents in recent years in which young people lost their lives after being injured during mountain activities before they could reach hospital.
After the online news headlines, we connected with Karditsa and spoke with Kostas Tzellas, President of the Federation of Agricultural Associations of Karditsa, about the future of farmers’ mobilisations, shortly before his departure for Thessaloniki to take part in the symbolic four-hour blockade of the port. Later in the programme, we returned to Thessaloniki to speak with Diamanto Kritikou, President of the Amyntaio Agricultural Association, as she was arriving at the port by tractor.
The program also introduced us to the newly elected Mayor of Darwin, Australia, Emily Dimitriadis, a second-generation Greek Australian with roots in Florina. We learned about the “Mikis Theodorakis Symposium: Present and Future”, taking place in Chania from 12 to 14 December, from Matthaios Frantzesakakis, President of the Pan-Cretan Association of Friends of Mikis Theodorakis.
Finally, Fotini Dimopoulou, an educator from the group “To Skasiarcheio”, spoke about the Freinet educational method and its pioneer Célestin Freinet, focusing on the use of media such as radio in the educational process and how this approach supports children’s personal development and growth within the school environment. This theme lies at the heart of her book “Radio and the Pedagogical Rights of Children through Freinet Pedagogy”, the outcome of an important research project conducted in schools.
