On Thursday’s program, 19 February 2026, we opened with a reference to the exhibition dedicated to the Palestinian people titled “17 Gardens”, based on the poetry of Essam Theodorou Alantasi and the artwork of Dimitris Asteriou. Poet and representative of the Palestinian Community in Greece, Essam Alantasi, spoke on the program about the developments concerning the Gaza Strip and about the exhibition, which concludes on Sunday, 22 February. The exhibition is curated by Human Cast (Aikaterini Kontarini & Mary Sakellariou), while the accompanying poetic art album is published by ababagalerychania.
Immediately afterwards, we discussed the photographs from the execution of the 200 in Kaisariani with Dr. Menelaos Charalampidis, historian at the University of Athens, focusing on the historical events and the need to highlight their true dimensions. The first hour concluded with Ivana Tzortzevits presenting the international news.
In the second part of the program, we examined the case of the tragic accident at the Violanta factory in Trikala, and the image of employees showing support—through banners and applause—for the owner who was ordered into pre-trial detention by the courts. We discussed the issue with Dr. Christina Antonopoulou, Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Athens, forensic psychologist and expert witness.
ERT correspondent in Syros, Lina Theologitou, then informed us about the upcoming three-day Carnival celebrations on the island, as well as this year’s commemoration marking 200 years since the naming of Ermoupoli.
Before the sports news, in the final segment of the program, we spoke with director Dimitris Moutsiakas about his film “Gekas”, currently available on ERTFLIX and screening on 21–22 February at the European Film Festival in Vienna.
