Second Officer Ilias Tousounis from Kasos, who disembarked just a few days ago, speaks on “Fair Winds and Following Seas” on Voice of Greece.
“The art of seamanship, along with the knowledge and experience of navigation, must be passed on in the best possible way from the older to the younger generation, so that Greece—home to some of the world’s finest seafarers—remains a global maritime power,” he notes, among other things.
He also speaks about his excellent cooperation with Captain Vangelis Tores, how much he learned from him during their seven-month voyage, and expressed his deep gratitude.
After seven months at sea aboard the M/V Maran Gas Hector, he reflects on the journeys and experiences of this voyage, while also referring to his previous one, which took place almost entirely in the Persian Gulf, with all its particular challenges.
