On Thursday’s program, 21 May 2025, we discussed the amendment introduced by the Ministry of Justice concerning the handling of offenses committed by members of parliament, which provides for the acceleration of judicial procedures, with criminal lawyer Vassilis Cheirdaris.
Following the newspaper front pages, we turned to current economic affairs with Yiannis Agouridis, journalist at Oikonomikos Tachydromos.
At the close of the first hour, we focused on developments in the Middle East in conversation with Giorgos Tzogopoulos, Lecturer at the European University.
At the beginning of the second hour, we “traveled” to the village of Athanasios Diakos in the Vardousia mountains, following a resolution issued by the Brotherhood of Athanasios Diakos concerning the protection of Arkoudorema and the Vardousia region, after the decision to construct a small hydroelectric project in the area — a move that has sparked reactions from the local community. We were joined by Dafni Koulou, philologist and member of the Brotherhood of Athanasios Diakos.
Immediately afterwards, Matthaios Frantzeskakis, Director of the Chania Film Festival, spoke to us about the great cinematographer Walter Lassally, on the occasion of the presentation of the book “The Wandering Cinematographer” at the Michalis Kakogiannis Foundation. The book is the autobiography of the renowned artist of cinematography, who shaped the visual identity of many important Greek and international films, and won the Academy Awards for Zorba the Greek by Michael Cacoyannis.
Before the closing segment and the sports news with Giannis Papageorgiou, Makis Delaportas — actor, writer, and researcher of classic Greek cinema — spoke on the program about Vasilis Logothetidis, the great Greek actor from Constantinople, on the occasion of his book “Vasilis LOGOTHETIDIS – The Comedian of Comedians.”
