Manolis A. Perselis, hailing from the seafaring island of Kasos, shares his stories and experiences, immersing us in his world of the sea and fishing.
Since he was a child, he has been involved with boats, caiques, longlines, and nets alongside his father and uncles, from 1960 until today. “Unfortunately, fish have dwindled in Greek seas, and nothing is the same as it was in the old days,” Manolis remarks.
He has been through many ups and downs, both good and bad, with his caiques, Two Brothers and Christos. The largest fish he’s brought to the surface is a 25-kilogram grouper and a 10-kilogram red snapper.
