On Sunday, January 21st, , the show “Our Town” hosted Maria Farantouri.
The great internationally acclaimed Greek singer talked about the important moments in her career, about the great songs she performed, the top creators with whom she collaborated, about special experiences from her big concerts.
Maria Farantouri refered to her long and decisive relationship with Theodorakis, Hadjidakis, Savvopoulos, Mikroutsikos, Livaneli, but also with the poets Neruda, Lorka, Ritsos, Seferis, Kampanellis.
She talked especially about her love and her unique relationship with Mikis all these years, while she told us about Hadjidakis that he was “a worthy creator and an honest man”.
In a discussion with Themis Rodamitis, the important artist refered to social issues that concern her, the Greek music scene today, the social importance of poetry in songs. She talked about top Greek performers he admired, about rebetiko and the music of the world.
