His Eminence Metropolitan Daniel of Accra spoke on Voice of Greece and the program “Our Global Voice” with Dimitris Kontogiannis about the traditions upheld by the Orthodox Church of Ghana during Holy Week. The Church, under the jurisdiction of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa, includes 35 parishes and 20 priests. He highlighted how local cultural elements—such as polyphonic singing—are beautifully integrated into the Divine Liturgy, alongside the Epitaphios procession and the celebration of the Resurrection.
Also featured on the program was Ms. Marianna Gabriel, Honorary Consul of Greece and Cyprus, who offered her warm wishes to Hellenism worldwide and emphasized the recent establishment of the Greek Community of Accra under the guidance of Metropolitan Daniel. Earlier in the broadcast, founding member and businessman Socrates Socratous spoke about the community’s formation and shared additional insights.
