The second part of ”Our Town” featuring show Vassilis Karapostolis. ( The first part was broadcast on Monday, January 15th).
The professor of Culture & Communication at the University of Athens and also writer, discusses with Th. Rodamitis develops his thoughts on the concepts of love as opposed to “I like you”, violence against women, violence against children, the role of the family.
Vassilis Karapostolis refers to everyday life routine, the inertia of the individual, his desire for distinction in the public sphere, beauty, courage, the good in imagination as creation, the “love” for the eternal, the value of the will to act.
He makes references to his latest book entitled “the pulse of the world – love’s struggles in our time”. He tells us that “winning over strangers is an element of civilization” and that “the forces of inertia would like to kill romantic love and love so as not to remind people that life is ready to gestate – if they want it to, and to leave work for posterity”.
