Nikos Sideris was born in Athens in 1952 and studied Medicine at the University of Athens. He then settled in Paris for postgraduate studies (specializing in Psychiatry, History and Neuropsychology – Neurolinguistics). He holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Psychology of Panteion University and is a teaching psychoanalyst, a member of the Strasbourg School of Psychoanalysis (E.P.S.) and the European Psychoanalysis Federation (FEDEPSY). He works in Athens as a psychiatrist, psychotherapist and family therapist. He is the Scientific Director of the Galen Institute of Mental Health and Personal Development. He has taught at the Department of Psychiatry of the Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly, at Athens College and Deree College, at the Athens School of Fine Arts, the course “Pictorial Creation and the Fantasy of the Artist: The case of Eroticism”, as well as at the School of Architecture of the NTUA the course “Architecture and Psychoanalysis”. He teaches at the Postgraduate Program of the Faculty of Primary Education, National Kapodistrian University of Athens “Self-knowledge of the Teacher: Experiential Workshop”.
