Take Your Time with Prokopis Agelopoulos | 29 Feb 2024

On Thursday, February 29th, we listened to lyrics of George Seferis’ poems, through the music of the great creators who set his poems into music and the voices of the important performers who sang them. At the same time, we dedicated an important part to yesterday’s one-year anniversary of the Tempe crime. We commented on current affairs with ERT journalist Christos Pagonis. We spoke with Dimitris Bratis, member of the Executive Committee of ADEDY, about the mobilization of the previous day, with demands for accountability and vindication of the victims of Tempi, and the salaries of civil servants, as a counterweight to the increased of cost of living. Before the end of the first hour, we met Mrs Barbara Mitliaga, mayor of Serres, one of the 22 female mayors elected through the local elections.

In the second hour, we connected to Samothrace, from where the mayor of the island, Thanasis Vitsas, spoke about the history of the archaeological museum and announced that this summer the museum will open its doors after a total of 13 years of works, initially for the building restoration and then for the arrangement of the exhibits infrastructure. We talked with Mr Manos Kitsonas, Director of the Planetarium of the Eugenides Foundation, about the new upgrade of the projection systems that make it once again one of the most modern and technologically trained system in the world, but also about the new films that will be screened. Finally, Mr Dimosthenis Davvetas, writer, visual artist and professor of philosophy in Paris, spoke to us about the personality and the power and timelessness of George Seferis’ poetry, on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
