Anthi Rozi on David Gissen’s “The Architecture of Disability” | 04 June 2026

On Thursday, 04 June 2026, “Imprint”, produced and presented by Fuli Zavitsanou, welcomed architect, columnist, and translator Anthi Rozi to the Voice of Greece studio. The discussion centered on the groundbreaking study by David Gissen, The Architecture of Disability: Buildings, Cities, and Landscapes Beyond Access (Crete University Press, 2025).

Rozi discussed the distinguished architectural historian’s critique of the dominant view of disability as merely a technical issue of accessibility. She explored how the experience of impairment can offer new perspectives on the perception and transformation of buildings, monuments, landscapes, and cities, challenging conventional approaches to architectural design and urban planning.

The conversation also examined how disability can enrich our understanding of the built environment, fostering greater empathy, humanity, and stronger social connections.
