Argyris Archakis on the presence of racism in anti-racist discourse | 18 June 2026

On Thursday, 18 June, “Imprint”, hosted by Fuli Zavitsanou, welcomed Argyris Archakis, Professor of Discourse Analysis and Sociolinguistics in the Department of Philology at the University of Patras and Scientific Coordinator of the innovative TRACE research project, Tracing Racism in Anti-Racist Discourse: A Critical Approach to European Public Discourse on the Migration and Refugee Crisis.

He spoke about the TRACE project, the central concept of liquid racism, and the study of ambiguities and overlaps between racist and anti-racist discourse in the public sphere. The discussion also explored the role of linguistic research in fostering critical reflection and raising public awareness.
