On Thursday, 30 April 2026, the program “Imprint”, hosted by Fuli Zavitsanou, met with Rita Kolaiti—an acclaimed translator, Honorary Doctor of the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting at the Ionian University, and a member of the evaluation committee of the Greeklit program of the Hellenic Foundation for Books and Culture (HFBC), which supports the translation of works from Greek literature into other languages.
She spoke about the HFBC’s outward-looking strategy and its efforts to promote Greek literary production abroad, highlighting the bridging role of translation between cultures. She also reflected on the passion for literature and translation as an essential prerequisite for practising this unique intellectual craft.
