Performer Betty Harlafti is soon travelling to China, invited to sing at the opening ceremony of the Qintai Music Festival in Wuhan, an annual autumn event that hosts internationally acclaimed artists and leading symphony orchestras from around the world. Harlafti will perform works by Mikis Theodorakis, marking the 100th anniversary of his birth.
Also featured is author and poet Tasos Lampropoulos, a permanent resident of Shanghai, who recently took part in the International Conference of the China Writers Association in Zhejiang Province. In the coming days, he will participate in another international conference in Luoyang (16–19 October), where he will speak as a Greek writer and Athenian citizen on the theme: “Ancient Capitals · New Vitality: Sustainable Development of Global Ancient Capital Cities.”
