Maria Georgoula, Social Worker and Scientific Director of the Day Care and Daily Support Centre for Persons with Disabilities, speaks about the work of the Seafarers’ Parents Association for Persons with Disabilities ARGO.
She presents the association’s history, mission, and activities, highlighting its certified status as a private legal entity providing primary and secondary social care services. ARGO offers education, support, and accommodation to young people and adults with intellectual disabilities and/or Autism Spectrum Disorders, with priority given to members of families of Greek seafarers.
The association was founded in 1985 on the initiative of mothers of children with intellectual disabilities, themselves spouses of seafarers.
