Konstantinos Voukelatos, president of the Greek Community of Buenos Aires, spoke on the Voice of Greece radio program “Our Global Voice” with Dimitris Kontogiannis. He shared the story of his family’s migration – beginning with his grandfather in the 1920s, followed by his father who arrived as a child in 1934 – and reflected on his impressions from a recent trip to Greece, as well as the economic and political situation in Argentina and the lives of Greeks in Buenos Aires.
He also conveyed the Community’s gratitude to Ms. Patronidou, Coordinator of Greek Language Education based in New York, for sending much-needed teachers to their schools in Buenos Aires, where 600 children and 120 adults are currently learning Greek, and to Ms. Maira Myrogianni, Secretary General for Greeks Abroad, for her continued support.
