Captain Nomikos Kazonis, hailing from Kalymnos, brings with him a wealth of maritime experience—10 years in deep-sea shipping and 18 in coastal ferry services. His years at sea, he says, have left a lasting mark.
In a heartfelt conversation, Captain Kazonis spoke about the vital importance of ferry routes for island life, stressing the need for ships to reach their destinations regardless of weather conditions.
Our islanders must get where they need to go. So must their food, supplies, medicine, fruit—everything. The captain and crew are heroes for making that happen,” he emphasized. “Many criticize from the comfort of a café, but they don’t understand the responsibility we carry.”
