Sotiris Delis, former member of the Swedish Parliament and current candidate for the municipal council in the area where he resides, spoke about the economic situation in the Scandinavian country and the political landscape just a few months ahead of the September elections, in an interview with Voice of Greece and the program “Our Global Voice” with Dimitris Kontogiannis.
Mr. Delis offered his own interpretation of the lead currently held by the Social Democrats in opinion polls, while also making special reference to the political culture of Swedish voters, who, as he noted, dislike extreme rhetoric and inflammatory language. According to him, the average Swedish voter remains emotionally detached at the ballot box and places logic above emotion when voting.
He also drew comparisons with Greece and with specific behaviours observed in the Greek Parliament.
